The iShares Cup 2009 fleet will feature 40 of the World's best sailors, who between them have over 50 World Championship titles, 27 America's Cup participations, 17 Round the World navigations and 14 Olympic campaigns. From inshore to offshore, from technical dinghy specialists to giant multihull gladiators, these sailors are riding high at the peak of their professional sailing careers.

New for Round 6: Rumbo Almería (ESP) - Fernando Echavarri
An all-new Spanish team, Rumbo Almería, joins the sixth and final event of the 2009 iShares Cup sailing series in Almeria.
The boat is skippered by Fernando Echavarri, reigning Tornado Olympic gold medallist. He is a multiple world champion and currently ranked No.2 in the world in the catamaran class, and most recently skippered the 2008-09 Volvo Ocean Race entry Telefonica Black.
He is joined by his Tornado crew Anton Paz, who sailed with Echavarri to both Olympic gold and world championship victories.
This tight-knit duo will be joined by experienced big boat sailor Jaime Arbones, who has been part of four America’s Cup campaigns and twice competed in the Volvo Ocean Race. The fourth member of the team is Fernando Rivero, another top yacht sailor who has won multiple IMS and ORC championships.
New for Round 4: Wirsol Team Germany Kiel.Sailing City (GER) - Roland Gäbler
For the fourth round at Kiel only, the first ever all-German team will enter the iShares Cup. Wirsol Team Germany Kiel.Sailing City will become the eleventh entry in this year’s series, skippered by Olympian Roland Gäbler, who represented Germany in the Tornado catamaran at four Games. At the helm will be 24-year-old Tino Mittelmeier, who will become the youngest helmsman in the iShares Cup series. Tino is joined by his brother, 27-year-old Nico Mittelmeier, and Gunnar Struckmann (also 27), another former Olympian, who completes the young German team.
